For the first time, the performance of a high-resolution silicon based two-dimensional dose detector has been successfully tested with a proton pencil beam in a strong magnetic field. Silicon diode arrays are expected to be ideal in future efforts in MRI-guided proton therapy research as they offer high resolution real-time dosimetry.
